A brief summary of the fifteenth century colonial expeditions of Henry the Navigator, Christopher Columbus and Vasco da Gama
In the last Brief Complete Herstory instalment, we saw the Middle Eastern influence on the European Renaissance, and learned that the work of astronomer and mathematician Al-Batani was of assistance during the colonial expeditions of Henry the Navigator, Christopher Columbus and Vasco da Gama. Those were all sponsored by the rulers and Catholic monarchs of Portugal and Spain, who sought to profit from trade in gold, spices and slaves.
