Have heard about that study before but not in such detail, thanks! Reminded of a book about drone 'pilots', "Hellfire from Paradise Ranch: On the Front Lines of Drone Warfare" by Joseba Zulaika
Both of these posts were fascinating and so relevant for what's unfolding today, thank you for your detailed research. I have a number of people that come to mind, that i want to share these essays with, who have drawn various conclusions from Stanley Milgram's famous experiments, and I am still turning it all over in my mind as well, what this means. Your growing theme of the role of indentification shines through. I enjoy following the thread of your work and I love the pencil drawings, they add something that is embodied and personal to these essays for me.
Thank you so much Renaee!! Your thoughtful comments mean a lot. Starting a new Substack can feel so odd, like you're pouring out your work to a world that is not listening. I totally accept that as part for the course but you make it so much better by taking the time to show appreciation. Thank you!
